This trailer by our dear friends at TransformationalFestivals.net tells the story of who we are!
“In order to live in a world that we may make possible, a world that is thriving,
balanced, peaceful, and just, we all have to engage in the endeavor to become
that possibility. We are reaching out to you, because we recognize you as a
Social Architect of the Now, offering a particular gift to the collective feast
that is laid before us. As we all bring our individual experiences to the table,
we each partake in the nourishment of being the co-authors of the greatest story ever told. ”
~ Jamaica Stevens
A Culture of Celebration!
It began in the sixties….a dream….a passionate dream that rose up inside us, something great and magnificent…..a deep knowing that love and peace could rule our lives, that we could re-design society, shattering the evils that plague the world and spawn something new based in love. We left our parents homes, our churches, our schools and went out in search of others who shared the vision. As we hooked up the gatherings began… Love-ins, Be-ins and music concerts. Communes sprang up, micro worlds where we experimented in new ways of living together.
As our numbers grew, so did the gatherings. We camped out for days at a time, celebrating life, and meeting in circles to share ideas, to honor one another and the planet we love, to learn from one another. We cherished art, music, theater and boundless creativity.
In the four decades since those early beginnings, our seedling ideas grew into organics, sustainability, alternative energy, holistic healing – impacting every aspect of society….a whole realm of new ways of living together as humanity on earth. And through those same years, while our early gatherings began as rustic campouts in farmers fields, they grew into elaborate festivals with multiple stages, hundreds of artisans, workshops on every topic we cherish. Today our festivals are full scale immersions, experiencial forays into the world we are building, an incredibly magical, wonderful, enchanting world full of life, full of joy and laughter. People who come to our festivals never want to go home.
